Second Stage Round 11: Trakai - Nafta-Uni. 74-83

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Trakai (20-13) lost at home to fifth ranked Nafta-Uni. (19-15) 83-74. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-20. But Trakai won second period 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nafta-Uni. made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Trakai was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Julius Kazakauskas (197-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. Ignas Vaitkus (196-93) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Nafta-Uni. players scored in double figures. Guard Dovis Bickauskis (188-93) responded with 18 points and 5 assists and swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nafta-Uni. maintains fifth place with 19-15 record. Trakai at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Nafta-Uni. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Trakai will play at home against the league's second-placed Ezerunas-Karys (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
