Regular Season Round 23: ViVe - TuRi 93-56

Eighth ranked ViVe (8-15) crushed at home 10th ranked TuRi (2-21) by 37 points 93-56, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by ViVe. TuRi was better in fourth quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding TuRi to just 7 points in first quarter. ViVe dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to TuRi's 28. ViVe forced 22 TuRi turnovers. Worth to mention a quality performance of American swingman Korinne Campbell (182-88, college: W.Virginia, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds. Ninni Salmi (184-96) helped adding 19 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four ViVe players scored in double figures. ViVe's coach Jukka-Pekka Kujala felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Sanni Salonen (181-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and guard Marika Korpinen (172-98) scored 15 points. ViVe moved-up to sixth place, which they share with FoA and Pyrinto. TuRi lost nineteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. ViVe will face higher ranked HyPo (#5) in Hyvinkaa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TuRi will play at home against the league's leader Catz Lappeenranta (#1) and hope to win that game.
