Fifth ranked ratiopharm Ulm (14-9) played at the court of 8th ranked Artland Dragons (11-12). ratiopharm Ulm managed to secure a 5-point victory 82-77 on Saturday. Artland Dragons were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Montenegrin guard Brion Rush (186-84, college: Grambling St., agency: Three Eye Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. International Tim Ohlbrecht (210-88) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. American point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St.) answered with 13 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Lawrence Hill (203-87, college: Stanford) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Artland Dragons. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. ratiopharm Ulm maintains fifth place with 14-9 record. Loser Artland Dragons keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. ratiopharm Ulm will face BG Goettingen (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Artland Dragons will play against Walter Tigers in Tuebingen and hope to win that game.
