Regular Season Round 35: Iskra Svit - Rieker KN 84-82

The most exciting game of round 35 in the Extraliga took place in Svit. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Rieker KN (28-7) to fifth ranked Iskra Svit (15-19) 84-82 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Rieker KN. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American guard Justin Black (188-92, college: Morgan St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (190-90) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. American-Liberian point guard Jaytornah Wisseh (185-88, college: LIU Brooklyn) answered with 22 points and 7 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international forward Marek Kozlik (187-86) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Rieker KN. Iskra Svit maintains fifth place with 15-19 record. Rieker KN at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Iskra Svit are looking forward to face SKP Banska Bystrica (#6) at home in the next round. Rieker KN will play against the league's leader Prievidza (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
