Flamengo got to a confident start of their Liga Americas Group F campaign. They drubbed Halcones Rojos in the opener in Mar del Plata. Vieira scored 19 points to pace the Brazilian team. Flamengo jumped to a 17:12 lead ten minutes into the game. The Brazilian powerhouse maintained the advantage throughout the second quarter. They arrived at halftime up by 6 points 36:30. Flamengo exploded with 31 points in the third quarter to boost the gap at 19-point mark. They never looked back afterwards cruising to the victory. Nicolas Laprovittola chipped in 16 points, while Olivinha Rodriguez added 15 points and 10 boards in the win. Devin Ebanks responded with 20 points for Halcones Rojos. Zamora had 9 points in the loss.
