Regular Season Round 24: ETB Wohnbau - Cuxhaven 65-70

Date: February 27, 2015
An interesting game took place in Essen where higher ranked ETB Wohnbau (13-11) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (7-17) 70-65 on Friday. The best player for the winners was American guard Brandon Johnson (183-86, college: San Diego, agency: Haylett Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Bill Borekambi (199-92, college: Sequoias CC) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Cuxhaven BasCats' coach Moris Hadzija used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Michael Jost (204-88) added 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. Cuxhaven BasCats moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Bayer Giants. ETB Wohnbau at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Heidelberg and Hamburg. Cuxhaven BasCats will meet at home higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (#8) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ETB Wohnbau will play against the league's leader s Oliver Baskets where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
