Second Stage Round 12: Trakai - Ezerunas-Karys 71-60

The most important game in the last round took place in Trakai between second ranked Ezerunas-Karys (23-12) and fourth ranked Trakai (22-13) on Friday night. Ezerunas-Karys was defeated by Trakai on the road 71-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ezerunas-Karys. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 28-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) who added 12 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Trakai's coach Adndrius Slezas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) with 23 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and Deividas Kumelis (188-95) scored 6 points and 6 assists. Trakai moved-up to third place. Ezerunas-Karys at the other side keeps the second position with 12 games lost. Trakai are looking forward to face Zanavykas (#6) in Sakiai in the next round. Ezerunas-Karys will play at home against Suduva-Mantinga (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
