Regular Season Round 36: Umea - LF Basket 77-80

Ninth-ranked Umea (8-22) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked LF Basket (20-11) on Friday. The visitors from Lulea managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. LF Basket outrebounded Umea 36-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Greek forward Alexandros Sigounas (200-88, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Emil Salon (190-85) who recorded 24 points and Canadian-British Kai Williams (198-88, college: S.Dakota St.) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Five Umea players scored in double figures. LF Basket maintains fifth position with 20-11 record. Umea lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 22 games lost. LF Basket will have a break next round. Umea will play again on the road against LF Basket (#5) in Lulea and hope to win that game.
