Second Stage Round 13: Vilniaus - Silute 86-71

Everything could happen in Vilnius at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Vilniaus and 13th ranked Silute had identical 13-22 record. This time Vilniaus used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Silute 86-71 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Vilniaus. Silute managed to win second period 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Andrew Fair (183-89, college: St.Francis, IL) stepped up and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and center Vitalijus Luksa (206-86) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Fair is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side guard Evaldas Saulys (195-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and center Edgaras Sosnovskis (206-91) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vilniaus have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Vilniaus maintains twelfth place with 14-22 record. Loser Silute keeps the thirteenth position with 23 games lost. Vilniaus will meet bottom-ranked JAZZ-Diremta (#14) in the next round. Silute will play against Delikatesas in Joniskis and hope to secure a win.
