Second Stage Round 13: Nafta-Uni. - Petrochema 88-66

Rather expected game in Klaipeda where 7th ranked Petrochema (16-20) was rolled over by fifth ranked Nafta-Uni. (20-16) 88-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Nafta-Uni.. Petrochema managed to win fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Petrochema 40-28 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Nafta-Uni. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Petrochema's players. Forward Donatas Norkus (196-90) stepped up and scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) chipped in 13 points. At the losing side point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) responded with 20 points and point guard Vladislovas Razumnovas (191-95) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nafta-Uni. maintains fifth place with 20-16 record. Petrochema lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 20 games lost. Nafta-Uni. will meet Zanavykas (#6) in the next round. Petrochema will play against the league's second-placed Ezerunas-Karys in Moletai and hope to secure a win.
