Regular Season Round 15: Crnomelj - LTH Castings 72-79

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Crnomelj. First ranked LTH Castings faced 4th placed Crnomelj. Guests from Skofja Loka (13-2) defeated host Crnomelj (9-6) 79-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Crnomelj. It looked good early as Crnomelj took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then LTH Castings had a 17-13 second period charge getting the lead and Crnomelj was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-79. LTH Castings made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Crnomelj turnovers. Crnomelj was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for swingman Blaz Mesicek (194-97) who led his team to a victory with 28 points. Center Lovro Hren (201-87) contributed with 14 points for the winners. LTH Castings' coach Gasper Potocnik allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Anze Cerkovnik (200-86) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Crt Ristic (182-89) added 14 points in the effort for Crnomelj. LTH Castings have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-2 record. Crnomelj at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Parklji. LTH Castings will play against Geoplin Slovan (#6) in Ljubljana in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Crnomelj will play on the road against Hrastnik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
