Top ranked Saint Chamond (19-5) recorded its fifth loss on the court of ninth ranked Vendee Challans on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Vendee Challans 70-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint Chamond. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was Bahamas power forward Lavar Simmons (201-83, college: Master's) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Swedish power forward Martin Ringstrom (206-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian swingman Mantas Ruikis (195-85) who recorded 16 points and power forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (198-83) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Vendee Challans maintains ninth position with 14-10 record. Saint Chamond at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. Vendee Challans are looking forward to face La Rochelle (#11) at home in the next round. Saint Chamond will play against JA Vichy (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
