There was no surprise in S'Arenal where 13th ranked Lobe Huesca (6-15) was defeated by eighth ranked Palma (12-10) 89-74 on Sunday. Palma looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American Shawn Glover (201-90, college: ORU, agency: Comsport) who scored 23 points. Forward Ivan Matemalas (194-80) chipped in 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Belarusian power forward Maksim Salash (206-96) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Edgar Vicedo (201-94) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Lobe Huesca players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Palma maintains eighth place with 12-10 record. Loser Lobe Huesca keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Palma will face Leyma Basquet (#10) in Coruna in the next round. Lobe Huesca will play at home against CB Prat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
