Flamengo snatched a narrow win over Penarol in Mar del Plata and occupied the first position in Group F. Marquinhos Vieira nailed 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for the Brazilian team. Flamengo spurred ahead in the first half. They accumulated a comfortable 45:30 halftime lead. Flamengo maintained it throughout the third quarter. The visitors entered the fourth term up by 17 points 69:52. Penarol unloaded 34 points in the final frame but stopped just a whisker away from the win. Nicolas Laprovittola chipped in team-high 18 points for Flamengo. Leonardo Gutierrez responded with 20 points for Penarol. Alejandro Konsztadt tossed in 16 points in the loss.
