Regular Season Round 24: Phoenix Hagen - Ludwigsburg 79-95
Date: March 1, 2015
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Phoenix Hagen (9-15) was defeated at home by tenth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (12-12) 95-79. EnBW Ludwigsburg made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. EnBW Ludwigsburg outrebounded Phoenix Hagen 40-20 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for EnBW Ludwigsburg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 71.4 percentage. The winners were led by American point guard Kerron Johnson (185-90, college: Belmont) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 assists and Finnish Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valparaiso) supported him with 20 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Even 24 points by American forward Larry Gordon (196-87, college: Cal Poly Pomona) did not help to save the game for Phoenix Hagen. His fellow American import point guard David Bell (187-81, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 19 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Art.Dragons. Phoenix Hagen lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Bayreuth. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against BBC Bayreuth (#14) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Phoenix Hagen will play against the league's leader Brose Baskets where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
