Regular Season Round 22: Torun - Slask Wroclaw 66-63

Date: March 7, 2015
Important game to mention about took place in Torun. Ninth ranked Twarde Pierniki (10-12) saved a 3-point victory at home edging higher ranked Slask (14-8) 66-63 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Slask won fourth quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Twarde Pierniki made 8 blocks. It was a very good performance for American point guard William Franklin (184-85, college: Bradley, agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Canadian center Sean Denison (211-85, college: Santa Clara) contributed with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. The former international Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton Co. CC, agency: Promotex) replied with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Ukrainian forward Denis Ikovlev (200-86, college: Nevada, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Slask. Twarde Pierniki have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Anwil and Trefl Sopot. Loser Slask keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Twarde Pierniki will face higher ranked AZS Koszalin (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Slask will play against Rosa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
