Bottom-ranked Mazeikiai managed to get a third victory on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Mazeikiai won against ninth-ranked Tonybet 70-62. Tonybet trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 17-12 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 62-70 at the end of the game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Darius Pakamanis (192-81) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 5 assists. Forward Raimundas Danys (198-85) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Tonybet in the defeat. Newly promoted Mazeikiai maintains eleventh place with 3-27 record. Tonybet lost their fifteenth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 24 games lost. Mazeikiai will meet at home higher ranked P.Zvaigzdes (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tonybet will play against the league's second-placed Zalgiris (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
