Regular Season Round 23: Krosno - GKS Tychy 78-50

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Krosno as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Krosno smashed 11th ranked GKS Tychy at home 78-50. The game without a history. Krosno led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GKS Tychy to just 6 points in first quarter. Krosno forced 20 GKS Tychy turnovers. Adam Parzych (190-86, college: Bryant, agency: Promotex) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points. Power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) contributed with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Krosno players scored in double figures. Power forward Tomasz Deja (200-83) answered with 8 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) added 9 points and 5 steals in the effort for GKS Tychy. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Krosno (18-5) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted GKS Tychy dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Pogon Prudnik and Astoria Bydg.. GKS Tychy will play next round against Znicz Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. Krosno will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked AZS PP in Poznan.
