A very interesting game took place in Kirchheim. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 11th ranked Kirchheim Knights (11-15) to fourteenth ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (9-17) 76-74 on Saturday evening. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 23-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. Cuxhaven BasCats forced 19 Kirchheim Knights turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Brandon Johnson (183-86, college: San Diego, agency: Haylett Sports) who scored 29 points and 8 assists. Bill Borekambi (199-92, college: Sequoias CC) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Cuxhaven BasCats' coach Moris Hadzija allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized American forward Julian Sensley (206-82, college: Hawaii, agency: Comsport) produced 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Enosch Wolf (216-90, college: Connecticut) added 11 points and 17 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. Cuxhaven BasCats have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Finke Baskets and Chemnitz. Kirchheim Knights at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. Cuxhaven BasCats' next round opponent will be league's leader s Oliver Baskets in Wuerzburg and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
