Regular Season Round 16: V.Lisici - Kumanovo 89-103

There was no surprise in Skopje where 9th ranked V.Lisici (1-14) was defeated by fifth ranked Kumanovo 2009 (9-5) 103-89 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kumanovo 2009. V.Lisici managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kumanovo 2009 shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Kumanovo 2009 looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by V.Lisici's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Marjan Janevski (203-88) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Aleksandar Kostoski (186-88, agency: Beo Basket) who added 17 points and 7 assists during the contest. Kumanovo 2009's coach Igor Mihajlovski used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Serbian Petar Nikolic (-93) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Ivan Sazdov (180-83) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kumanovo 2009 moved-up to third place, which they share with Feni Indistrija and Karpos Sokoli. V.Lisici lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Kumanovo 2009 will meet at home league's second-placed Rabotnicki in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. V.Lisici will play against Feni Indistrija (#5) in Kavadarci and hope to win that game.
