Regular Season Round 24: Mersin - Denizli 75-80

TB2L top team - Denizli (19-5) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat eighteenth ranked Mersin (5-19) in Akdeniz 80-75. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a quality performance of American guard Osiris Eldridge (191-88, college: Illinois St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and the other American import Tyler Stone (203-91, college: SE Missouri St.) who added 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Azizcan Ozdemir (201-88) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Fatih Solak (213-80, agency: Ali Guney BA) scored 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Mersin players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Denizli maintains first position with 19-5 record, which they share with Buyukcekmece. Mersin at the other side stay at the bottom place with 19 games lost. Denizli will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mersin will play on the road against Gelisim (#7) in Izmir and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
