Regular Season Round 42: Shimane SM - Takamatsu FA 96-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Shimane Magic's (14-26) home victory over 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (11-29) 96-78 on Sunday. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for American forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Joe Chapman (193-84, college: Marquette, agency: I.D.S. Law) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Kouki Yamabuchi (183-84) added 7 points and 10 assists in the effort for Takamatsu FA. Five Shimane Magic and four Takamatsu FA players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shimane Magic maintains seventh position with 14-26 record. Loser Takamatsu FA keeps the eighth place with 29 games lost. Shimane Magic will face higher ranked Oita Heat Devils (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Takamatsu FA will play against the league's second-placed Okinawa GK where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
