Ciego de Avila held off Artemisa for 1-0 lead in the semis. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 20-13 last quarter charge of Artemisa cut the lead to 77-70 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Artemisa 44-28 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international center Joan Luis Haiti (200-82) stepped up and scored 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and forward Vaniel Reyes (193-83) chipped in 13 points and 17 rebounds. Four Ciego de Avila players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Legismel Borlot (195-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Osmel Oliva (178-87) scored 15 points and 5 assists.
