The game was mostly controlled by Konin. Widzew managed to win second period 20-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American guard Aaryn Ellenberg (170-92, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists. Her fellow American import power forward Gloria Brown (187-89, college: UTEP, agency: Merit Management Group) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Konin's coach Dalius Ubartas felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Lidia Niedzielska (174-88, agency: Promotex) answered with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Cecilia Okoye (185, college: McNeese St.) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks in the effort for Widzew. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
