Regular Season Round 22: Haukar - Keflavik 89-83

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Keflavik's (11-11) road loss to fourth ranked Haukar (13-9) 83-89. It looked good early as Keflavik took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Haukar had a 28-22 second period charge getting the lead and Keflavik was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 83-89. Haukar players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American forward Alex Francis (198-91, college: Bryant, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Kari Jonsson (190-97) supported him with 18 points and 8 assists. Five Haukar players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Davon Usher (198-92, college: Delaware) did not help to save the game for Keflavik. Guard Gudmundur Jonsson (191-84) added 19 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Keflavik's coach Helgi Jonas Gudfinnsson let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Haukar moved-up to third place, which they share with Njardvik. Keflavik at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost.
