Regular Season Round 2: Arecibo - Quebradillas 71-65

Very predictable result when Capitanes (2-0) won against Quebradillas (0-2) in Arecibo 71-65 on Thursday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 24-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Capitanes made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. International forward Angel Alamo (206-85, agency: APAA Sports Group) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Haitian guard Eniel Polynice (195-88, college: Seton Hall) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Angelo Reyes (205-81) added 8 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Quebradillas. Five Capitanes and four Quebradillas players scored in double figures. Capitanes will face Atleticos (#5) in San German in the next round. Quebradillas will play at home against Brujos (#6) and hope to win that game.
