Regular Season Round 124: LA Lakers - New York K. 94-101

The Lakers were swept in their season series by the worst team in the NBA, falling 101-94 to the 30th-place New York Knicks. The Knicks also beat the Lakers in early February. New York, playing without All-Star Carmelo Anthony (knee), scored 35 points in the second quarter to take the lead. The Lakers made a late run, but trailed for the entire second half. Tim Hardaway Jr. had a big night, scoring 22 points off the bench in 30 minutes, hitting five of seven three-point shots to lead all scorers. Andrea Bargnani added 16 for the Knicks, who shot 46.8% from the field and 50% (9 of 18) from three-point range. Alexey Shved finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, Langston Galloway had 12 points and Cleanthony Early 11. Jordan Hill led the Lakers with 19 points, 10 rebounds and a late three-pointer that got the Lakers to within four with 24.2 seconds left. Jeremy Lin scored 14 and had seven assists. Jordan Clarkson, Wayne Ellington and Carlos Boozer each added 11 points. Tarik Black fouled out with a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds). Ed Davis scored seven with 10 boards. Rookie Jabari Brown, making his first NBA appearance after signing a 10-day contract with the Lakers earlier in the week, scored seven points in 17 minutes. The Lakers shot 42.2% from the field and 27.8% (5 of 18) from three-point range. The Knicks converted 36 field goals, of which 27 were assisted. The Lakers had 18 assists on 38 makes. They also held a 51-33 rebounding advantage, including 15-4 on the offensive glass. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 17-47. They'll next host the Atlanta Hawks (50-14) on Sunday at Staples Center.
