Pioneros advanced into Liga Americas Final. They prevailed against Flamengo in an exciting semifinal clash in Rio de Janeiro. Justin Keenan nailed 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to pace Pioneros. Flamengo secured a 23:14 lead after the opening quarter. But Pioneros shifted the gear in the second term. The Mexican team went for 26 points in the period to cut the deficit at 2-point mark 40:42. Pioneros denied the deficit in the third term. The Mexican team surged ahead for a 60:58 advantage at the final break. Flamengo regained the advantage late in regulation but Pioneros escaped the defeat forcing overtime. Pioneros dropped 8 points in the extra period and eked out a tough win at the end. Clemente netted 14 points, while Soriano added 12 points for Pioneros. Vieira responded with 27 points for Flamengo. Meyinsse tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
