Regular Season Round 39: Toyota Alvark - Hyogo S. 93-59

An interesting game for Toyota Alvark (26-14) which hosted in Tokyo 4th placed Hyogo S. (14-24). Fourth ranked Toyota Alvark had an easy win 93-59. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Hyogo S.'s 42. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Hyogo S.'s players. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) added 10 points in the effort for Hyogo S.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Toyota Alvark. They maintain fourth place with 26-14 record which they share with defeated Hyogo S. Hyogo S. lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 24 games lost. Toyota Alvark will have a break next round. Hyogo S. will play at home against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers (#1) and hope to win that game.
