Regular Season Round 17: Kumanovo - Rabotnicki 94-88

The game between second ranked Rabotnicki (11-4) and fourth ranked Kumanovo 2009 (10-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Rabotnicki was defeated by Kumanovo 2009 in a tough game in Kumanovo 88-94. Rabotnicki trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 36-28 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 88-94 at the end of the game. Kumanovo 2009 outrebounded Rabotnicki 42-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Rabotnicki helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian center Uros Lukovic (213-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Serbian swingman Vukasin Mandic (200-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Kumanovo 2009 players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Dimitar Mirakovski (177-81, agency: Interperformances) answered with 33 points (!!!) (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and the former international center Todor Gecevski (209-77, agency: Interperformances) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Rabotnicki. Rabotnicki's coach Marin Dokuzovski rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kumanovo 2009 have a solid series of three victories in a row. Kumanovo 2009 moved-up to third place, which they share with Feni Indistrija. Rabotnicki at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Kumanovo 2009 is looking forward to face league's leader MZT Skopje on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rabotnicki will play against Feni Indistrija and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
