Regular Season Round 17: Crnomelj - Luxuris Celje 92-79

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Crnomelj (11-6) beat at home 8th ranked Luxuris Celje (7-10) 92-79. The game was mostly controlled by Crnomelj. Luxuris Celje was better in fourth quarter 31-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Crnomelj players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Luxuris Celje's players. Luxuris Celje was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Nejc Zupan (203-96) nailed 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and point guard Domen Janc (187-96) accounted for 14 points and 8 assists. Matic Babic (-90) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and guard Primoz Brolih (185-81) added 10 points respectively for Luxuris Celje in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Crnomelj moved-up to third place, which they share with Lastovka. Newly promoted Luxuris Celje keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Plama Pur. Crnomelj will play against Plama Pur (#9) in Ilirska Bistrica in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Luxuris Celje will play at home against Geoplin Slovan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
