Regular Season Round 26: Vichy - Challans 66-73

Date: March 14, 2015
There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Vendee Challans (15-11) defeated on the road 6th ranked JA Vichy (15-11) 73-66. It looked good early as JA Vichy took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vendee Challans had a 21-15 second period charge getting the lead and JA Vichy was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-73. 25 personal fouls committed by JA Vichy helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian Djordje Petrovic (202-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. Point guard Tony Ramphort (173-82) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and American-Italian swingman Ryan Zamroz (192-87, college: Master's, agency: Players Group) added 21 points in the effort for JA Vichy. JA Vichy's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vendee Challans moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Rueil and Vichy. JA Vichy lost fifth consecutive game. Vendee Challans' next round opponent will be Rueil (#9) at home.
