Regular Season Round 23: Trefl Sopot - Energa Czarni 68-85

The game in Sopot supposed to be also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Energa Czarni (14-8) played at the court of 8th ranked Trefl (10-13). Energa Czarni did not have too big problems ending evening with a very confident victory 85-68. The game without a history. Energa Czarni led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Trefl's 28. They outrebounded Trefl 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import guard Kyle Shiloh (188-85, college: Nevada) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Pawel Leonczyk (202-86) came up with 20 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Lithuanian forward Eimantas Bendzius (205-90) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Trefl in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Energa Czarni maintains sixth place with 14-8 record. Trefl at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Anwil and Torun. Energa Czarni will play against league's leader Stelmet in Zielona Gora in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trefl will play on the road against Stabill Jezioro (#15) in Tarnobrzeg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
