Very expected game in Dramas where 10th ranked KAOD (7-13) was defeated by second ranked Panathinaikos (18-2) 81-65 on Monday. The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 61.9 percent from the field. KAOD was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Dimitris Diamantidis (196-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) who added 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Panathinaikos have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 18-2 record behind leader Olympiacos. KAOD at the other side keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Panathinaikos will face Koroivos (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
