The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Atleticos (3-2) in San German on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Mets (3-2) 99-88. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Atleticos. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 52-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Mets dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Atleticos' 26. It was a great shooting night for Mets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The former international Larry Ayuso (190-77, college: USC, agency: Paris Global Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!). American forward Will Daniels (203-86, college: Rhode Island) contributed with 28 points for the winners. American point guard Raymond Cintron Cortes (183-90, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with 20 points and the other American import guard Will Martinez (188, college: Malcolm X JC) added 20 points in the effort for Atleticos. Five Atleticos players scored in double figures. Mets moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Atleticos. Mets is looking forward to face Leones (#3) in Juana Diaz in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atleticos will play on the road against Manati and are hoping to win this game.
