Regular Season Round 41: USK Praha - J.Hradec 84-80

An interesting game took place in Praha where higher ranked BK Lions Hradec (16-23) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked USK Praha (13-26) 84-80. It looked good early as BK Lions Hradec took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then USK Praha had a 29-16 second period charge getting the lead and BK Lions Hradec was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-84. USK Praha made 25-of-28 charity shots (89.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by BK Lions Hradec helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Lukas Festr (185-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Slovenian forward Mitja Nikolic-Smrdelj (200-91) contributed with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Donald Robinson (193-89, college: W.Virginia Tech) answered with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Brison White (182-92, college: Northwestern St.) added 14 points in the effort for BK Lions Hradec. Four BK Lions Hradec players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. USK Praha moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Svitavy. BK Lions Hradec at the other side keeps the seventh position with 23 games lost. USK Praha's next round opponent will be higher ranked BK Pardubice (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
