Umea bruised Visby to gain 1-0 lead in the series. Umea led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Visby Ladies to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Umea dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Visby Ladies' 32 and made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Visby Ladies only scored four points from the stripe. Umea forced 36 Visby Ladies turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian forward Lina Pikciute (192-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Kenyan swingman Salome Kabengano (178-92, college: Temple) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Umea players scored in double figures. Umea's coach Mikael Blomqvist felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Tricia Oaks (193-89, college: Colgate) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import power forward Stephanie Rogers (190-89, college: Lake Erie) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Visby Ladies.
