Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked ratiopharm Ulm (18-9) beat at home 15th ranked Walter Tigers (8-19) 103-96 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 103-96. ratiopharm Ulm shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Slovenian guard Jaka Klobucar (198-87) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Montenegrin guard Vladimir Mihailovic (193-90, agency: Beo Basket) who recorded 18 points and 6 assists and American forward Augustine Rubit (201-89, college: S.Alabama) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Five ratiopharm Ulm and four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for ratiopharm Ulm. They maintain fourth place with 18-9 record. Loser Walter Tigers keep the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Bremerhaven. ratiopharm Ulm will meet Braunschweig (#8) in the next round. Walter Tigers will play against Phoenix Hagen (#12) and hope to secure a win.
