Regular Season Round 27: Challans - Rueil 78-72

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Vendee Challans and 9th ranked Rueil had identical 15-11 record. This time Vendee Challans used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Rueil 78-72. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-15. But Rueil won second period 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for forward Aurelien Toto N'Kote (193-79) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Bahamas power forward Lavar Simmons (201-83, college: Master's) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winning side. Swingman Kevin Bichard (196-86) came up with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Rueil in the defeat. Vendee Challans (16-11) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Vichy. Rueil lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Vendee Challans' next round opponent will be Cognac BB (#15) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Rueil will play against JA Vichy (#6) and hope to win that game.
