There was an upset in Juana Diaz where much higher ranked Leones (4-3) were defeated by ninth ranked Manati (3-3) 76-70 on Sunday. Leones trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 27-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-76 at the end of the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Manati made 8 blocks. Guard Jonathan Garcia (183-87) fired 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. International power forward Ricardo Sanchez (212-87) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. Four Manati players scored in double figures. The former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Carlos Rivera (187-83, college: Hofstra, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side.
