Quarter-Finals Round 2: Grindavik - KR 77-81

Date: March 22, 2015
KR accounted for the second consecutive victory in the series versus Grindavik. Grindavik was ahead by 13 points after three quarters before a 27-10 charge of KR, which allowed them to win the game. They made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international Helgi Magnusson (197-82, college: Catawba) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and international guard Olafur Olafsson (194-90) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four KR and five Grindavik players scored in double figures. Grindavik's coach Sverrir Sverrisson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
