Semi-Finals Game 3: Halc.Xalapa - Pioneros 64-97

Pioneros fired past Halcones Xalapa on the road to surge ahead in the semifinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Pioneros. Halcones UV Xalapa was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pioneros shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Halcones UV Xalapa's players. It was a great evening for the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American swingman Antoine Wright (201-84, college: Texas A&M) with 12 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
