Very expected game when 10th ranked Basketbal Svitavy (14-27) was smashed on the road by sixth ranked BK Usti nad Labem (19-22) 90-65 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by BK Usti nad Labem. Basketbal Svitavy was better in third quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BK Usti nad Labem looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Basketbal Svitavy's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Clayton Vette (202-88, college: Winona St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds. Canadian point guard Hernst Laroche (185-89, college: N.Mexico St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four BK Usti nad Labem players scored in double figures. BK Usti nad Labem's coach Tomas Hruby felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Cory Abercrombie (201-85, college: Independence CC) answered with 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and the former international center Stanislav Votroubek (212-81) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Basketbal Svitavy. BK Usti nad Labem maintains sixth place with 19-22 record. Basketbal Svitavy at the other side keeps the tenth position with 27 games lost. BK Usti nad Labem will face league's second-placed Prostejov on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Basketbal Svitavy will play against USK Praha (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
