Halcones Xalapa claimed a tough home win in Game 5 to force the sixth game in the semifinal series. Pioneros trailed by 21 points after 3 quarters before a 22-10 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-84 at the end of the game. Halcones UV Xalapa shot 28 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Pioneros only scored twelve points from the stripe. 31 personal fouls committed by Pioneros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Adrian Henning (203-82, college: Austin Peay St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import swingman Antoine Wright (201-84, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners.
