There was no surprise in Santurce where 8th ranked Mets (4-6) were defeated by fourth ranked Cangrejeros (6-2) 83-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cangrejeros. Mets was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cangrejeros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Mets' players. The former international Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) fired 25 points for the winners. Mexican guard Javier Gonzalez (186-72) chipped in 6 points and 14 assists. American forward Will Daniels (203-86, college: Rhode Island) produced 23 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international Larry Ayuso (190-77, college: USC, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 15 points (made all of his seven free throws) respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cangrejeros have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Mets keep the eighth position with six games lost. Cangrejeros will face Atleticos (#6) in San German in the next round. Mets will play at home against Manati and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
