Regular Season Round 28: Cognac - Challans 56-73

Date: March 28, 2015
No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Vendee Challans (17-11) beat on the road 15th ranked Cognac BB (9-19) 73-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vendee Challans. Cognac BB was better in fourth quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vendee Challans forced 20 Cognac BB turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Bahamas power forward Lavar Simmons (201-83, college: Master's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Serbian Djordje Petrovic (202-84) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American guard Hugh Robertson (195-89, college: S.Florida) replied with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Lesly Bengaber (196-79) added 9 points in the effort for Cognac BB. Vendee Challans have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Vichy. Loser Cognac BB keeps the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. Vendee Challans will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#16) in Paris in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cognac BB will play on the road against JA Vichy and hope to win that game.
