Regular Season Round 44: NH Ostrava - BK Opava 68-61

The most shocking disappointment of round 44 was a road defeat of 4th ranked BK Opava (22-20) to seventh ranked NH Ostrava (18-24) 68-61. It ended the two-game winning streak of BK Opava. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 45-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by BK Opava helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Adam Ciz (190-91) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Corey Muirhead (198-83, college: W.Carolina) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four NH Ostrava players scored in double figures. Power forward Martin Gniadek (202-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Jakub Sirina (186-87) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. NH Ostrava maintains seventh position with 18-24 record. BK Opava at the other side keeps the fourth place with 20 games lost.
