Pioneros rolled past Halcones Xalapa to clinch 4-2 win in the quarterfinal series. The game without a history. Pioneros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St.) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Pioneros players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) with 25 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Adrian Henning (203-82, college: Austin Peay St.) scored 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
