Regular Season Round 24: Hapoel Kazrin - Maccabi Raanana 68-87

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kazrin, where higher ranked Hapoel Kazrin (13-11) was outleveled at home by thirteenth ranked Maccabi Raanana (8-16) 87-68. The game without a history. Maccabi Raanana led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Kazrin's 38. Maccabi Raanana forced 25 Hapoel Kazrin turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by American forward Eric Wise (198-90, college: USC) who scored that evening 29 points and 8 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican Alex Franklin (196-88, college: Siena) supported him with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Kazrin. His fellow American import forward Coty Clarke (201-92, college: Arkansas) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Kazrin's coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Maccabi Raanana moved-up to twelfth place. Hapoel Kazrin at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Maccabi Raanana's next round opponent will be higher ranked Maccabi K/G (#3) in Kiryat Gat and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
