Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Quebradillas (5-8) were edged at home by third ranked Capitanes (8-4) 81-80 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-80. Capitanes forced 19 Quebradillas turnovers. International forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina) fired 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman David Cortez (190-81) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. American forward Tyler Wilkerson (203-88, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and Haitian guard Eniel Polynice (195-88, college: Seton Hall) added 16 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Five Quebradillas players scored in double figures. Capitanes keep a position of league leader. Newly promoted Quebradillas dropped to the eleventh place with eight games lost. Capitanes will face Atleticos (#7) in San German in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Quebradillas will play on the road against Brujos (#8) in Guayama and hope to win that game.
